A lot of people focus so on the negative, they don't remember that old cliche that the night is always darkest before the dawn. Eventually things always turn out for the best for everyone. But if we wallow in our own pity and despair, we don't realize that beauty and renewal are all about us.
I know a lot of people that live their lives, pitying and hating the fact that it seems God took a divine shit on them. They couldn't have it any harder, and what do you know? You end up on the phone hearing about how it just got worse. But the day is warm, bright, clear, and beautiful. Why do you let the material affect the emotional? Just like anything, girlfriends and boyfriends are material goods until you decide to marry them. Then they become something else. It's a mixture of material, spiritual, physical, and emotional.
The day is clear and bright. It's time to start fresh. It's time.
A lot of my friends think that significant others are going to help them overcome rough portions in their lives. They cover up wounds that need air. They hide behind sex, emotions, and I love you's. It's not a fix people! A boyfriend/girlfriend can't fix your life. Someone special in your life doesn't make you a different person. Instead of a boyfriend or girlfriend, you should focus on the friends you have around you. Use them, confide in them, love them.
Friends are inexpensive to maintain, they love you endlessly, and they don't judge you. At least, good ones don't.
But at the end of the day,we're all just hiding behind one mask or another. Whether that mask is religion, sex, music, talents, or other facades. We need to come clean and just admit that we're not great beings. We're humans. There isn't anything that can help us come to know who we are.
The only thing that can help you on your journey are the encounters and stops that you make along the way. Instead of thinking of how you need something so badly, look at the scenery around you. Enjoy the fact that you have the opportunity and chance to love eventually. When love or whatever you desire comes to you, you'll appreciate it that much more.
Patience.
Thoughtfulness.
And friends.
At the end of the day.
